What Should the U.S. Do About Isis?
The U.S. needs to immediately address ISIS because they are kidnapping Americans and killing them on video, so we need to address this immediately so there are no more victims. To solve this issue, we should find where ISIS is and take everyone involved and give them consequences. According to President Barack Obama, we can do this with airstrike. According to the CNN article,¨Obama gave the go-ahead to pound ISIS forces in Iraq from the air. Why not do the same in Syria, a country the President himself ceded Thursday has become a "safe haven" for the terror group?¨ This shows how Obama thinks an airstrike is the effective way to end ISIS. Another source from bookings.edu, says ¨The United States should also rebuild its Sunni contacts from the Sahwa uprising against al-Qaida in Iraq, bolstering the voices of important Sunnis so that Baghdad has no choice but to hear them.¨ His idea of ending ISIS is building a relationship with the Sunnis. Clearly, these are two very different approaches that we need to decide on immediately in order to prevent and stop ISIS all together.
